At the empty street that I'd captured in the war.
The tiny record player spun around and made the sound
Of so many people not singing anymore.

This is me singing about things that I did.

When I was just so high, I split my knee wide open
And that made me wonder what happens when we die.
Oh my younger brother, I cut off all his hair
And after it was over, he sat right down and cried.

From the crib to the grid, then right back to high school
Never will we fly down a street so true.

Things that I did and still do, only one place I’drather go.
